60's Sears Tote Cycle

Just got this in the mail today. I bought it from one of the members of the fine site ratrodbikes.com. I had a newer folding bike several years ago and absolutely loved it. It eventually fell apart (cheap chinese components) and I must have given it away. I've always wanted a vintage folding bike ever since I saw a white peugeot folding bike from the 60's back when I lived in Bloomington. This isn't a folding bike per se, but the frame does come apart via two wingnuts which hold the front and back together. I don't think I'm going to paint this one. I plan on cleaning it up, polishing the chrome and riding it around.

Rainy day score

Found these on Craigslist this afternoon... actually just the red Western Flyer was on CL. The seller was a nice guy named Harvey from the Eastside who I bought a trike from this Summer. The Western Flyer was $20!!! He had lots of bikes and bike parts in his backyard. I asked him if he had anything else for sale and he pointed to the women's frame with the tank and those much sought-after star sprockets. I asked how much he wanted for it and he said 10 bucks! Sold! Nice way to end my birthday weekend!

garage diggin'...

i went garage diggin' this evening and came back with a couple of bikes... a vintage huffy and a bratz bike... they'll both get the treatment, and the bratz bike is destined for the serious chop... purple velvet is not a good time unless prince wraps a guitar in it... i have some good ideas for the huffy, so all is well...
